Conditions and operating methods to maximize cooling effect
01
Installation location
Installation location
A well-ventilated place that is not contaminated by the surrounding environment
Avoid places that can be affected by radiant heat as there is a chimney and exhaust devices.
Choose a location around the cooling tower where there are no walls or obstacles that hinder air intake and if there are walls, keep a distance of 1.5 times the height of the cooling tower.
Keep the height of the obstacles around the cooling tower lower than the height of the cooling tower if possible.
02
How to install
How to install
Install by following the foundation drawing.
Ensure the location of the cooling tower is leveled and securely fasten the foundation bolt.
Transport the cooling tower to the installation site by separating them into important parts.
After the foundation concrete has completely cured, install the lower section of the cooling tower on top of the foundation.
Assembly of the cooling tower is carried out by assembly methods and sequence.
After the assembly, clean and tidy the surrounding environment to prevent contamination.
03
Piping
Piping
The inlet and outlet pipes of the cooling tower are generally equipped with KS10K flanges and must be careful there is no excessive force on the flanges when installing the pipes.
When installing the multicell, install the shut-off valves on the riser pipes to enable adjustment for even water distribution in each cell.
Cooling towers are equipped with the drain by default and open the drain valve at the bottom of the water tank to prevent pipes from freezing when the operation is suspended during winter.
04
How to operate
How to operate
Manually rotate the fan blades in the initial operation to ensure they spin freely and check the distance from the fan stack.
After checking the fastening of bolts in each drive unit and lubricant application in the bearing parts, monitor the fan operation to check the proper rotational direction, abnormal noise, or unusual vibrations.
Fill the lower basin (cold water basin) with water up to the top of the basin to maintain the water level.
Turn on the circulating pumps and open the shut-off valve of each cell in the cooling tower to adjust the water volume.
Check whether the water drops evenly into the tank.
Adjust the valve for even distribution of water in each cell if there are multiple cells.
Adjust the ball tap of the automatic water supply pipes slightly below the specified water level.
05
Maintenance
Maintenance
Adjust the tension of the fan belt after a week from the initial operation or replace the belt. The belt may stretch during the initial operation.
Inject the lubricant to the bearings at least once every three months.
Clean the surface of the rotating components such as the surface of the fan blade for at least a year. If there are foreign substances on the fan blade, it may result in unbalanced vibration.
Clean the water tank twice a year.
06
Precautions
Precautions
In case the fan belt stretches, avoid pulling the bearings excessively and damaging the shaft.
In case the fan belt stretches, avoid pulling the bearings excessively and damaging the shaft.
Operating the fan in the winter when the water temperature is 12℃ or lower may lead to freezing.
If solids, such as chemicals for water quality management, continue to accumulate, there may be sludges in the cooling tower, refrigeration equipment, related equipment, and piping.
Check for abnormal daily, vibration, automated water supply system, and water distribution status daily.
